We have just gone through an elongated solar minimum with a complete lack of sunspots for quite some time, that needs to be factored in. Plus, we have thermal lag from the CO2 produced before the meltdown finally feeding through in terms of temperature change. Also it could just be a coincidental cycle and therefore a spurious correlation
