Yesterday, President Barack Obama, speaking at the Energy Department, called for action. He said the time for talk on an economic recovery package is over and "the time for action is now." There was however, no mention of secret alien bases in the Arctic.

Around the same time, Sen. John McCain failed to get his alternative economic stimulus plan approved. It seems he failed to realise that he did not get elected president.

His flawed $421 billion 'alternative' plan focused on tax cuts to stimulate the economy. Somebody should explain to him that a tax cut is no good when you have lost your source of income, and your home, as many have.

The President explaine that a key focus of his plan is on creating jobs. "This plan will save or create over 3 million jobs" said the president. A lot of the work is going to be focused on rebuilding the infrastructure which has been long neglected. He also expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs over the next few years, in the clean energy industry.

There was no mention of the secret alien bases in the Arctic, nor was there an explanation of the recent activities in military bases around the country. Speculation is that there will be a series of temporary prisons and holding cells in case the continued economic meltdown results in rioting around the country.

"Civil liberties aside, what is to stop them from using these for holding the homeless and McCain supporters?" asked someone at the back of the room, before they were escorted out.

During his speech, the President also mentioned "BlackBerrys", which leads several reporters to ask what is his involvement with Research In Motion (TSE:RIM).
