July 1, thousands of BC residents line up at border crossings to avoid paying HST. By going south to Washington state, they can avoid paying the new taxes. Meanwhile, not all cash registers in BC retailers are set correctly. I went to one store that charged me HST + GST on my purchase. This sucks!
